Organization and Management

Seven democratically elected Councillors who are supported by an administration of staff members are responsible for the operational management of the Town Council. The main office bearers of Council are the Mayor (who is the Chairman of Council) and the Chairman of the Management Committee.

The Councillors are the policy makers. Councillors meet once a month to review and follow up on Council’s activities and to make decisions as per the recommendations of the Management Committee. The Management Committee is a Committee of three Councillors direct responsible for the monitoring of the operational management of the Town Council.

The Chief Executive Officer is the head of the administration supported by Heads of Departments. The administrators’ implements policies and reports to Council through the Management Committee.
